This one was amazing to me because I was using my son’s camera and he does not keep it on the 8x setting, but something manual. Just as I pushed the button, I noticed motion. My first thought was a bird took off, or maybe one landed, so I was pretty thrilled to get one in flight like that. To make it more fun, the one did not appear happy.
I’m not positive but we may have that finch at our finch feeder…Diane

I have not seen those Goldfinches, but suspect it is a different species than our American Goldfinch. Have you seen those European Robins? They’re positively puny. 
Yes, his robins are smaller than the ones I have photographed and not as full a red breast.
