Reading this article brought all sorts of comments to mind. You know I live in Iowa, and enjoy our little corner here. But there is a totally different climate (not talking weather) that is far removed from that of my home state of Nebraska. At times it is difficult to stomach. Well, I will say something nice about Iowa. If we had never moved here, we may have never gotten to know birds like we have.
The Great Backyard Bird Count was one we did not participate in this year. And actually made the conscience decision to not take part. We did the Christmas Bird Count; we’re in the middle of Project Feeder Watch season; we submit counts to Ebird. We didn’t really want to do another.
Referring back to the article. Did they ask the goose if they could put that picture online? It looks quit unflattering. :)
